Originally a simple two-colour block printed Morris & Co. wallpaper, Indian is thought to have been designed by George Gilbert Scott, with log books in the Morris & Co. archive showing that this design has been re-coloured more than any other across the decades. Featuring a range of standout colour combinations Indian Flock Velvet in a perfect design to reach a new generation of Morris lovers. Indian Flock Velvet is suitable for contract, drapes and upholstery.

Reportedly one of Morriss favourite designs and originally produced in 1876, this Indian-inspired fabric features clusters of snakeshead fritillaries and is an ideal design to team with larger scale Morris designs. Also available as a wallpaper of the same name, the rich colourways of this fabric have been printed on linen union, suitable for blinds, cushions, drapes and upholstery.

This multi-directional paper was originally designed by William Morris as part of a commission for the redecoration of the Grand Staircase in St James’s Palace, London in 1881. This surface printed wallpaper retains a beautiful opaque chalky finish.

This understated wallpaper depicts Persian, overblown flowers climbing in a trailing pattern with softened edges. The pattern was based on a carpet designed by John Henry Dearle in the 1890s, and is now available in distinct colourways.

Inspired by the earlier design, Bachelors Button of 1892, this evocative wallpaper encapsulates the romance of the medieval past that so inspired Morris and was designed by John Henry Dearle in 1912. Entwined lily stems and tendrils are arrange along a strong diagonal, designed by J.H. Dearles in 1899. One of the greatest legacies of Morris & Co. this wallpaper is printed in airy colourways, along with two deeper colourways - both styles creating drama in their own way.

Dating from 1926, it was one of the last block printed wallpapers designed by Morris and Co. and inspired by the much earlier Fruit wallpaper. An elegant symmetrical fabric design printed on 100% cotton cloth, inspired by a collection of linens Morris first admired in the South Kensington Museum. Brer Rabbit is taken from a 17th century Italian silk and Morris first registered the design in 1882. Named after the Uncle Remus childrens books popular at the time this fabric design was originally indigo discharge printed. Today the Morris studio have tried to replicate the mottled appearance of this earlier method using modern printing processes. Available in wallpaper in co-ordinating colours.

Bamboo has been adapted from a design by E.W. Godwin of 1872.  Like Morris Godwin was dedicated to beautifying the home and Oscar Wilde referred to him as One of the most artistic spirits of this century in England. Godwin was highly influenced by Japanese design and often used bamboo motifs in his work. Originally block printed by Jeffrey & Co. samples of the wallpaper can be found in the Morris & Co. Archive. This adaptation is taken from the original hand-painted watercolour housed in the Victoria and Albert Museum.

KELMSCOTT TREE - An interpretation of the lavishly embroidered bed curtains from Morris home Kelmscott Manor. The trellis background on the original has been removed and the design repainted creating a wonderful arrangement of trees birds and flowers.

Pimpernel is an unusual figure of eight design inspired by the 1876 wallpaper of the same name and features tulip leaves and flowers in a graphic modern style.

Rambling Rose depicts that iconic stalwart of forest walks and cottage gardens alike the English rose. Climbing twisting and turning this thorned rose's beguiling labyrinthine structure betrays the rose's symbolisation of earthy love and purity. A rarer feature in his wallpapers the rose was a motif William Morris repeatedly turned to in tapestry as well as in poetry.

Rose (here called Rambling Rose) from 1877 returns to the Morris & Co. range for the first time in many years in the Emery Walker's House collection.
