Chinoiserie Hall is inspired by a beautifully coloured archive wallpaper called Chinese Magpie, believed to be designed by William Turner (1867-1936) and produced by Jeffrey & Co. In this iteration, intricate budgies perch on delicate branches amongst springtime blossom and neat buds.
The first collection ‘Lanikai’ comprises of six Hawaiian-inspired prints each rendered in a variety of colourways. The latest collection ‘Heirloom’ rediscovers textiles from our Grandmother’s cupboard and a softer palette printed on natural coloured linen is displayed throughout the five new designs. Produced entirely in Australia, both collections are carefully constructed and screen-printed by hand. A terrific design depicting a collection of rosettes, emblems and badges in photorealistic glory with unique Lacroix style. Cocarde in French is a rosette made of ribbons and beads that was used by the soldiers but then used as a decoration on hats, clothes etc. by women after the Revolution
Derived from an ice bucket design entitled ‘Oggetti Cocktail’ created by Piero Fornasetti in the 1950s, Cocktails showcases the maestro’s fascination with repeated studies of the same subject in order to create multiple variations upon the same theme.
Its stylized mid-century graphic bottles and glassware were created in a vibrant Multi colour palette, true to the original sketches, which is complemented by a softer Pastel palette and the monochromatic Soot and Snow
Fornasetti used shells to cover the walls of his Lake Como villa dining room, as a mid-century interpretation of a sixteenth-century grotto. The room also featured a delicate shell ceiling lamp made by Giulia, Piero’s wife.
