For Morris, tapestry was the highest form of decorative art. Inspired in part by J. H. Dearles The Brook Tapestry and the friezes that sit beneath the Holy Grail Tapestries, this wide-width wallpaper design recreates the crispness and beautiful detail of medieval tapestries.

ISLET COLLECTION - A new fabric and wallpaper collaboration with artist @pipspiro.
It was a natural step for Anna and her business partner and brother Sam to team up with their sister-in-law Pip Spiro, who is a watercolour painter known for her vivid use of colour and uplifting aesthetic. The result is an amalgamation of art, interiors and family life, drawing on their mutual passion for colour and pattern combined with a shared connection to little island havens.

The tile like structure of the design mirrors traditional Japanese wall art and flirts with a Toile de Jouy. Each tile depicts a still life scene, however when viewed as one, it tells a harmonious story of the historical gardens.

The Tree of Life has been an endless source of inspiration for both ateliers, with all the collection’s designs borne of the Baobab. This fantastical panel celebrates the fruits, flowers, and vibrant ecosystem of South Africa, embodying a rich narrative of nature throughout the seasons.

Artists from both design houses hand-painted the ornamented fauna within this expansive tableau; the distinctive Cole & Son hand blending seamlessly alongside Ardmore’s characteristic style.
