Included in this exquisite collection are fabrics created as part of Ralph Lauren's Artist in Residence program. This special collaboration with siblings Naiomi Glasses and Tyler Glasses - both seventh-generation Diné (Navajo) weavers - honors Navajo heritage and centuries-old traditions.
'Second Phase' refers to a historic period of Navajo weavings in the mid 1800s in which 'Chiefs Blankets' or wearing blankets, which started as simple two or three colour stripes were now getting intersected with additional colours in rectangular forms in the ground which punctuated the pattern in a more vivid style than the simpler, earlier phase. Woven with cotton and linen and suitable for upholstery.
