Japanese Chinoiserie is available in six colourways on traditional bases, as well as one colourway offered on a Natural Grasscloth. The use of natural materials in Japanese culture links back to ancient times, exemplifying the incredible craftsmanship with a stitch by stitch methodology. Japanese Chinoiserie is painted in a traditional style, yet it gives a modern and timeless feel. .

Using Japanese techniques and charcoal, the Cole & Son artists created croquis for the Japanese Woods design. It is a modern interpretation of a traditional craft, known as Daisugi – a Japanese sustainable mission to preserve a whole forest in one tree. Within each pruned tree you have a whole forest. The striking Japanese Woods gives a contemporary feel to any room, providing the illusion of an eternal forest. This graphic and monochromatic repeat provides depth and perspective to the interior space.

Three luxury plain textured options have been added to the collection, to complement the Scenic Flora and Japanese Woods and Chinoiserie designs, and can aslo be used standalone.

Inspired by vintage embroidered Kimonos and traditional Japanese chinoiseries dating back to the 17th Century, Scenic Flora was created. The design is built on a theatrical structure, allowing you to enjoy the design from different perspectives. Scenic Flora presents a myriad of interpretations. Adorn your walls with the romantic and luxurious Scenic Flora, an elegant landscape of Japanese wildflowers. 

Behind the breathtaking wildflowers is a romantic story of a tender love. Kiku and Sakura, named after the flowers of Japan.

Kiku would pass an enamouring field of wildflowers every day while walking home from his mastery, gifting his beloved Sakura a daily flower. The blossoming field of wildflowers on the chinoiserie showcases the careful selection that Kiku made to honour Sakura. Scenic Flora remains a jewel of the room to symbolise an eternal & delicate love story.
