CARE INSTRUCTIONS: Cold machine wash separately on a delicate cycle with a very minimal amount of mild detergent. Do not tumble dry, soak or bleach. Iron at medium setting if necessary. For spot cleaning, gently dab the area with water (do not rub). Due to the nature of hand printed fabrics, variation in colour and pattern may occur. Keep out of direct sunlight to avoid excessive fading.

This intricately woven decorative jacquard fabric was inspired by an Uzbekistani suzani from the Sanderson archive. The handcrafted feel of the original textile has been beautifully captured and shown here in two new colourways.

Dating back to 1883, Strawberry Thief is one of Morris & Co.’s most iconic designs. This velvet interpretation retains the same enchanting detail of the original which was said to be inspired by the thrushes Morris found stealing fruit from his kitchen garden.

This beautifully printed design of birds and flowerheads trailing a central fruit tree was inspired by a version of the Kelmscott Manor bed hangings crafted for Melsetter House in Scotland. Now translated into a print this new design by Morris & Co. has been painted to create a fresco effect that represents the colourways of the Orkney landscape. Available in three colourways: Indigo Linen and Grey

An elegant symmetrical fabric design printed on 100% cotton cloth, inspired by a collection of linens Morris first admired in the South Kensington Museum. Todays version has been printed with subtle shading to reproduce the aged patina of the original fabrics and is available in sumptuous colourways. A wonderful choice for statement furniture pieces.

Brer Rabbit is taken from a 17th century Italian silk and Morris first registered the design in 1882. Named after the Uncle Remus childrens books popular at the time this fabric design was originally indigo discharge printed. Today the Morris studio have tried to replicate the mottled appearance of this earlier method using modern printing processes. Available in wallpaper in co-ordinating colours.

Bamboo has been adapted from a design by E.W. Godwin of 1872.  Like Morris Godwin was dedicated to beautifying the home and Oscar Wilde referred to him as One of the most artistic spirits of this century in England. Godwin was highly influenced by Japanese design and often used bamboo motifs in his work. Originally block printed by Jeffrey & Co. samples of the wallpaper can be found in the Morris & Co. Archive. This adaptation is taken from the original hand-painted watercolour housed in the Victoria and Albert Museum.

KELMSCOTT TREE - An interpretation of the lavishly embroidered bed curtains from Morris home Kelmscott Manor. The trellis background on the original has been removed and the design repainted creating a wonderful arrangement of trees birds and flowers.

Inspired by a document in the Sanderson archive titled ‘Animal Kingdom’, Pamir Garden is a fantastical fabric that reflects the 1970’s fashion for exotic patterns and global cultures.

Representative of a Persian garden, this oasis scene of floral sprigs, stylised trees, tigers and antelopes, has been repainted in a fresco style with a crackle glaze effect in the ground to give a time-worn look.

Taken from an archive document and with its classic chinoiserie appeal block printed pheasants flowers and leaves adorn this stylised Sanderson fabric. Available in three colourways: Chintz Navy and English Grey

A popular botanical subject, Fernery is a beautifully painted design depicting a variety of fern species - printed on crisp 100% cotton, with the exception the Olive colourway which is printed on natural linen.

Taken from a Sanderson archive document of 1971 and repainted in watercolour, this all-over design celebrates the bold masculinity of the exotic King Protea flower.

Very Rose and Peony - Adapted and enlarged from an original textile artwork, this archive inspired fabric is layered with the most dramatic of floral blooms. Choose from Multi’s clean, confident colours or the strong contemporary feel of Kingfisher/Rowan Berry and Wild Plum, printed on a luxurious velvet.

Adding a vintage feel to any room, this linen-blend fabric design was taken from a 1937 archive document and is digitally printed to capture the array of colours, overprints and textures of the original block print. Ideal for large expanses of curtains and blinds.

What Makes It Special

Charming and whimsical, Josef Frank's beloved 1947 print is a colorful, cheery addition to outdoor décor. Also available as a wallcovering and printed fabric.

The first collection ‘Lanikai’ comprises of six Hawaiian-inspired prints each rendered in a variety of colourways. The latest collection ‘Heirloom’ rediscovers textiles from our Grandmother’s cupboard and a softer palette printed on natural coloured linen is displayed throughout the five new designs. Produced entirely in Australia, both collections are carefully constructed and screen-printed by hand. The fabrics work beautifully on their own or even more successfully when mixed and matched on sofas, armchairs, curtains, cushions and lampshades in Spiro’s inimitable eclectic style.
